The author of the hit series Demon Slayer, is planning their next series. And that next series is going to be away from the demon slaying, and we may be slaying some aliens instead.

People are pointing out that the mangaka is seemingly going to the Dandadan route. But even though the concept and idea sounds very Dandadan, the vibes it gives off to me is more so the same as when Kisimoda tried to write a science fiction manga after Naruto, and that didn’t really go off well.

Samurai 8: The Tale of Hachimaru was nowhere near as successful as Naruto, and hell, I’m not sure if we’ll ever see it get an anime. But the point I’m getting at is if this new series by the Demon Slayer mangaka is going to hit the same problem. They were able to make one hit, but will they be able to make a second one? I still believe that the anime is what got Demon Slayer as popular as it is in the first place. The story isn’t anything crazy or new, but when the anime dropped, the visuals by Ufotable did a lot to enhance the series overall. But the mangaka focusing more on romance and not the action, might bring something interesting to their portfolio. I’m interested to see what they come out with, and hope it’s not a flop like Samurai 8.
Are you excited to see what this project is? Do you think it’s going to flop? Have you read Samurai 8: The Tale of Hachimaru? Tell us in the comments.
