A collab that I would have been so hype for if I still played Overwatch 2 has finally come true. As a fighting game lover myself, seeing Overwatch 2 collab with Street Fighter 6 is amazing. But now that I play Marvel Rivals, I feel like this collab would have fit better with that game because of the whole Marvel vs Capcom video games, but hopefully we can get that in the future. But for now, let’s enjoy the Overwatch 2 x Street Fighter 6 collab.
But, for a Street Fighter 6 collab, people are seeing a real lack of Street Fighter 6 characters. Sure these characters are all in Street Fighter 6, but Street Fighter 6 specific characters like Luke, Kimberly, Marisa, or Jamie are nowhere to be found. Nope, just a lot of characters you already know and who've been in previous Street Fighter games like Ryu, Chun-Li, Cammy, and Juri. Which is sad, cause yeah, those are fan favorites, but this is a Street Fighter 6 collab, not a Street Fighter collab. And Zarya would have been amazing as Marisa.
They couldn’t even put Widow, who’s dressed as Cammy, in her Street Fighter 6 design. Which shows how much this isn’t taking from Street Fighter 6, just using the name since it’s the most recent entry. And that’s not the worst part, people are upset with how the new character, Juno, is getting so many new skins and just out classing other heroes who fit the collab or skins better. Example, with this collab, she got the Chun Li skin, and you know who would have fit that skin better? Well it’s the girl who is thicc in the thighs just like Chun-Li, and is also is Chinese like Chun-Li, Mei.
But luckily, artist FUGTRUP is here to undo their wrong doing. Someone had too.
So yeah, luckily I don’t play Overwatch 2 anymore, or I would have been way more upset by this. Hopefully we do have that Marvel vs Capcom collab with Marvel Rivals soon, so NetEase can show Blizzard how to actually do a collab right.
