Anime Youtuber Makes Anime

It’s looking like manga and anime aren't made just by Japanese creators anymore. Well, some might consider Gigguk a part of the Japanese community, so he gets a pass. Let’s see how people feel about a British man of Asian descent making an anime, and if it's considered a real anime or not.

Now it’s kind of funny that he decided to go with the most overused and hated genre in anime, an isekai, to be his setting for his anime. Maybe it’s one of those things of thinking you can ā€œdo it betterā€ than all the other ones, and you’ll be the outlier like Re: Zero or Mushoku Tensei, or hell, like Konosuba. But looking into the comments, many people don’t seem to have fate in him.

And with the director from CODE GEASS RozĆ© of the Recapture being a part of it, not CODE GEASS, but the weird spin off that everyone shit on or ignore, yeah, that doesn’t really drive home confident. But at least it doesn’t seem like just the typical isekai of someone falling into another world with a handgun, or going to another world with my bank account, at least this seems to have a little more layer to it. And I’m not talking about the show, That Time I Found Myself in Another World with a 5 Layer Cake.

I’m always interested in seeing what can come out of someone’s mind who hasn't touched making an anime before, or doesn’t seem to really be a story writer to begin with. It could give us something amazing, and bring something new to the table…or just be another shitty slop show like High Guardian Spice.

It has to be better than this shit.

Are you interested in this anime? Do you think Gigguk will make a good anime? Are you tired of iseki? Tell us in the comments.

Probably the most base comment I have read from you Kinky.
High Guardian Spice is indeed hot diarrhea.

I've vaguely heard of Gigguk but have never consumed any of his content, but I say let him try and we'll see what happens. Who knows? It might be good because he's approaching from a different angle.

As long as he doesn't do something completely stupid and imply this project will be better than anime from Japan or something, because I can guarantee that'd tick people off.

I'm judging the show on its own merits. An anime YouTuber doesn't automatically invalidate all the work that the studio put into it. It's like saying the new Superman movie is trash because it's made by Gunn instead of Snyder. *Looks at RT user reviews* Oh...

Could go either way, hopefully it turns out good, and if not, we still get more Kevin Penkin music

There's so many trash animes and garage isekais being animated it really makes it look like there's more anime studios than source material to make shows from. So why not branch out? The bar to get made into an anime must be extremely low if we're getting "Reborn as a Vending Machine *Season 2*"

It would be awesome if I can find the time and money to make anime. Without using AI, without the critics and naysayers; and without someone going behind my back and turning it into another NTR, weak male sloop because "HAHA We Love Dat Shit."

I think isekai can still work so long as it's done in an unusual way. Like Konosuba falls under isekai, but thanks to a combination of being funny and the characters being likeable, I think it's quite good. In comparison, I don't like Overlord because I don't like any of the characters (but then the audience for that show is different).

Heck, there was the Transformers/ Mazinger Z crossover.

I have NEVER liked Gigguk for all the stupid shit he says but I wish him luck and success. Bad choice of director but hopefully things can turn out positively.

Love him or hate him, his work WILL have an audience. And I’d be interested to see what his idea of an anime should be, instead of hearing it be spoken about. And considering one of the biggest voices in the anime reviewer history he looks up to is Demolition D+, I can only hope he takes a few pages from the Florida man's book himself.

That image looks like cardcaptor Sakura fanart.
