I’ll be the first to say that I really never cared about the Mafia series. I’ve heard that Mafia 3's story was good and all that, but that’s it. I always saw it as a GTA clone, almost the same way I saw the Saint Row series, but now, with the announcement of Mafia: The Old Country and its price point, I might have to buy it just to support the cause.



Mafia: The Old Country has been announced to be $50, or $60 if you’re buying the bundle pack with add-ons. Another $50 game to add to the collection. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was $50 as well, and it sold very well. Games like that are proving that $50 games can be well made, and still make a profit. I would hope this would make game developers go the other direction and bring games back down to $60. But with Xbox announcing that they’ll be upping the prices of their game coming this December, my faith in that idea is slowly depleting. 

I hope Playstation will be our saviors and decide to either keep their games at $70, or be real chads and drop them back to $60. So even though I’m not the biggest Mafia fan, I feel like I want to buy it just so game companies can know that I’m happy they’re respecting my wallet.
