The latest in the saga of people glazing new shonen anime, Gachiakuta, is next in line. Sometimes people are right like when they were glazing Jujutsu Kaisen, but sometimes they're wrong like when people were glazing Sakamoto Days. But after just watching episode one, I can at least say that Gachiakuta had a promising start, and I’m interested in seeing where it goes.

It pretty much has the basic and usual shonen set-up. We have a main protagonist who’s an orphan, and is looked down upon by most of the people around him, but also has a small group of people who actually treat him like a human. He has a tragic backstory for why so many people hate him even though it’s out of his control. Some other events occur, putting him in a situation that is way over his head, but he’ll slowly have to overcome his shortcomings and struggles that are presented to him. All we need now is for his rival to show up, and the shonen meal will be complete.

I’ve also heard people praising the power system of the series, but since I’m not that far into the series yet, I’m not sure if that’s all smoke and mirrors so far. But I know what’s not smoke and mirrors, and that’s the hot and different looking female characters the show has.

Shonen is always sporting a big and hot cast of female characters, so hopefully this show sticks to that trend as well. But we’ll see if the NSFW art and doujin get the same treatment as something like Black Clover and Fire Force, or if it gets a big selection of NSFW art like Bleach, Naruto, and JJK. Let’s wait and see, but it seems like Teatotalerlewds, already got a early start on it.
